MW3 Blackcell S06
The work
Nine shots · Six weeksA horror-inflected operator reveal — a grotesque multi-headed mutation designed to shock while holding the Call of Duty aesthetic.
The brief pushed into body horror territory. Torn flesh, bone plating, and organic corruption needed to read as monstrous and iconic at the same time. I created shots from start to finish; refined textures, layered materials, and directed lighting to accentuate the silhouette.
Body horror that still reads as a hero
The brief pushed into territory Call of Duty rarely goes — torn flesh, bone plating, organic corruption. The challenge was making it monstrous without losing the iconic silhouette the franchise depends on.
Material work carried the piece. Subsurface scattering on exposed tissue, metallic decay on the plating, wet specular on the organic surfaces — each layer had to sell the corruption while keeping the operator readable at a glance.
